Obama: For the holidays at home

U. S. President Barack Obama announced that, as promised, the American troops would be withdrawn by the end of the year in Iraq, Reuters reported. Obama made the announcement at the White House after a video conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. Currently in Iraq there are still some 39,500 American soldiers. "Over the holidays, our troops will be home. Withdrawal of troops from Iraq, the war is over," Obama said exactly 8 years, 7 months and 1 day after the entry of U.S. troops in Iraq.

End of drama with our builders stranded in Iraq

Seven Bulgarian builders stranded for several months in the heavily guarded Green Zone in central Baghdad without pay and exit visas were finally able to leave Iraq, along with 15 of their Ukrainian counterparts. Libya is free on Sundays
